Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Source with Tophney collects, why, and what we do with it. It covers tophney.com, the Facebook and Instagram accounts we run — including our 1Stop Depot category accounts — and the conversations you have with us by email, WhatsApp or phone.
Source with Tophney is operated by Tophney Management Consulting Co., Ltd (多分你(中山)管理谘询有限公司) in Zhongshan, Guangdong, China. We are responsible for your information, and any question about it can go to tony@tophney.com.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to answer you, run your sourcing project, and see how our website and ads perform.
- Our website analytics don't use cookies. The Meta Pixel does, and you can opt out of ad targeting — see Cookies and the Meta Pixel.
- We don't sell your personal information.
- Want your data deleted? See How to delete your data.
What we collect
When you browse tophney.com
- Technical data. Like any website, our host, Vercel, receives your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Analytics. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights count visits and measure page speed. They don't use cookies and don't identify you: they record the page viewed, the referring site, your country, browser and device type. Unique visits are counted with a temporary identifier that is discarded after 24 hours.
- Meta Pixel. Records the pages you view and when you tap to contact us, such as our WhatsApp button. Details in Cookies and the Meta Pixel.
tophney.com has no forms or user accounts, so we don't learn your name or contact details unless you choose to get in touch.
When you contact us
If you email, message or call us, we receive what you send: your name, company, email address or phone number, and the details of your project — product specifications, quantities, drawings, photos and delivery destination. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and is also covered by WhatsApp's privacy policy.
When you engage with our Facebook and Instagram accounts
- Comments you leave on our posts, with your public username. We read them to reply and to learn what buyers ask about.
- Messages you send us on Messenger, Instagram Direct or WhatsApp, including from our ads. We handle these in Meta's own apps.
- Lead forms. If you fill in a form on one of our ads, we receive what you enter — typically your name, email, phone number and your answers.
- Statistics. Meta gives us aggregated reports on our posts and ads — reach, views, clicks and audience demographics. These don't identify you.
Businesses we reach out to
To find companies that may need our services, we research publicly available business information — company name, website, public social media profiles and posts, and business contact details — from public sources and business data providers. We use it only to decide whether and how to contact that business. If you'd rather we didn't, tell us and we'll remove you.
Our Meta integration
We manage our own Facebook Pages, Instagram accounts and ad accounts through an internal app built on Meta's developer platform (the Graph API and Marketing API). Only our team signs in to it, and it works only with the accounts we own. Through it we:
- read performance statistics for our own posts, Pages and ads;
- read and reply to comments left on our Facebook and Instagram posts;
- publish content to our Instagram accounts;
- create and manage our advertising campaigns.
It has no access to your own Facebook or Instagram account, your friends or followers, or your private messages. What it returns is used only to run our accounts and ads — we don't sell it, and we don't use it to build profiles of individuals.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To run your sourcing project: finding and vetting factories, managing production, quality checks and delivery.
- To keep business records, including invoices and tax records.
- To understand how people find and use our website, and to improve it.
- To measure our ads and show them to people likely to be interested, including people who have visited our site.
- To run our social media accounts and respond to comments.
- To protect our site and business from fraud and abuse, and to meet our legal obligations.
Cookies and the Meta Pixel
Our Vercel analytics don't use cookies. The Meta Pixel does. We use it to measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform and to show our ads to people who have visited tophney.com.
When you visit tophney.com, third parties including Meta may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to collect or receive information from our website and elsewhere on the internet, and use that information to provide measurement services and target ads. The pixel sends Meta the pages you view and when you tap to contact us, along with standard browser information such as your IP address and browser type. Meta may link this to your Facebook or Instagram account under its own Privacy Policy.
To opt out of ad targeting:
- Change your ad settings in Meta's ad preferences, and review or disconnect what businesses share with Meta in Accounts Center, under Your information and permissions → Your activity off Meta technologies.
- Opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies at aboutads.info/choices (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. tophney.com works fully without them.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that host, store or process information for us — Vercel (website hosting and analytics), Meta (the Meta Pixel, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp), and the email, workspace, cloud storage and AI tools we use to run the business. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
- Factories, suppliers and logistics partners — only what they need to make and deliver your order, such as product specifications and delivery details.
- Authorities and professional advisers, where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.
Where your information is processed
We're based in China, and our service providers operate in the United States, Europe and elsewhere. Your information may therefore be processed in countries whose data protection rules differ from those where you live.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: while the conversation is active, and for a reasonable time afterwards in case you come back to us.
- Clients: for as long as we work together, then as long as accounting, tax and legal record-keeping requires.
- Analytics and pixel data: held by Vercel and Meta under their own retention policies.
- Business research: until it's no longer useful, or straight away if you ask us to remove it.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it — including for marketing. Email tony@tophney.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If we've contacted you about our services, you can tell us to stop at any time. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
How to delete your data
You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you, including anything we've received through Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp:
- Email tony@tophney.com with the subject “Data deletion request”, or message us on WhatsApp at +86 139 2493 5377.
- Tell us the name, email address or phone number you used with us — and your Facebook or Instagram username if your request relates to our social accounts — so we can find your records.
- We'll delete your information within 30 days and confirm by reply.
We may have to keep some records, such as invoices from a completed order, where the law requires it. If so, we'll tell you what we kept and why. You can delete comments you've posted on our Facebook or Instagram posts yourself at any time, and manage the data Meta holds about you in Meta's Accounts Center.
Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections on our website, access limited to our own team, and established service providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our services are for businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
When our practices change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll say so clearly here.
